This is our inspiration: Our elixir, to create beautiful pieces of clothing in breathtaking colours drawn from the island of Sri Lanka
Thambapaani, Taprobane, Serendib, Ceylon, and now Sri Lanka – the island with many names. A paradise isle, shaped like a teardrop in the Indian Ocean. It’s belly full of glistening gems and smiles that truly shine! Where centuries of ancient culture met seafarers, traders, explorers, invaders and migrants to produce the proverbial melting pot that is our home today.
We come from a people that love a simple life filled with warmth and good times with many cousins and even more friends. Variety is the name of the game, and it is truly packed in here. From rainforests to beaches, plateaus to mountains, ancient civilisation to safaris. Many faiths, many cultures and so many choices of local food, fruit and native ingredients to nourish body and soul.

Sustainable means many things today. For us, we keep it simple, with clothes meant to last. Not just in terms of well made from quality material so you can use it over and over, but also in terms of timeless style that can be worn through any age, versatile design that works for many occasions, realistic fits for varied silhouettes, and meaningful choices. We hate wastage and try to use every scrap. It breaks our heart to see the mountains of clothes dumped each year, so please bring back any TOL pieces that require repair and we will mend them for you. If you feel you want to say goodbye to any of them, please send them back to us, we will clean them and donate them to someone who can give them a second life.
